Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
BizzQuébec is a directory of Quebec businesses paired with a content site. This policy explains what information we collect, what we do with it, and how you can have it corrected or deleted. It applies to bizzquebec.com and all of its pages.
Who is responsible
BizzQuébec is operated by H1Site.com. Any question about this policy, and any request for access, correction or removal, is handled by email, at info@h1site.com.
Under Quebec’s Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information), one person is accountable for the protection of personal information here: Sébastien Ross, privacy officer, reachable at info@h1site.com.
Information you give us
We collect only what you send us yourself:
- Newsletter: your email address, to send you our articles. Every send carries an unsubscribe link.
- Business listing: the company name, its contact details, description and photos, and the contact details of the person submitting it. This information is meant to be published — that is the whole point of a directory.
- Account: your email address, so you can come back and edit your listing.
- Press release: the document submitted, the company name and the name of the person submitting it.
- Guest article: your text, your name, your biographical note and your photo if you provide one.
- Email: whatever you write to us, and our reply.
Information collected automatically
Like most sites, we measure traffic. Two tools do that:
- Google Analytics 4: page views, referrer, device type, time on site. Google assigns an identifier to your browser.
- Microsoft Clarity: heatmaps and session recordings. This tool records your mouse movement, scrolling and clicks on our pages. It masks the contents of form fields, but you should know that a recording of your visit exists.
These tools place cookies on your device. You can refuse them: see the cookies section below.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a site places in your browser. We use three kinds:
- Necessary: these make the site work — keeping your session open, remembering your language, remembering your cookie choice. They cannot be refused without breaking the site.
- Measurement: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described above.
- Advertising: if we serve advertising, ad networks place their own cookies to select ads and measure their performance.
On your first visit, a banner asks what you accept. You can change your mind at any time through the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. Until you accept, no measurement or advertising cookie is placed.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings. That applies to every site, not only ours.
Third-party advertising
We intend to serve advertising, including through Google AdSense.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. Google’s advertising cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to our visitors based on their browsing.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of several vendors’ cookies through the Digital Advertising Alliance. If you opt out of personalized advertising, you will still see ads, but they will not be selected based on your browsing.
Affiliate links
Some pages display products sold by Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases — at no additional cost to you.
Clicking one of those links takes you to Amazon.ca, which applies its own privacy policy and places its own cookies. Amazon gives us no personally identifying information about your purchases — only aggregate statistics.
Prices and features shown come from Amazon and are cached; they may have changed since. The price that governs is the one shown on Amazon at the time of purchase.
Who your information is shared with
We do not sell personal information. We entrust some of it to providers that keep the site running:
- Supabase: database and uploaded-file hosting.
- Vercel: site hosting and delivery.
- Google (Analytics, AdSense) and Microsoft (Clarity): measurement and advertising.
- Amazon: only through the affiliate links described above.
Some of these providers keep data outside Quebec, notably in the United States. By sending us information, you consent to that hosting. We retain providers that offer contractual protection guarantees.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Business listing: as long as the listing is published. After a removal, we keep what is needed to avoid re-importing it by mistake.
- Account: until you delete it.
- Measurement: according to the retention periods of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
- Email: as long as needed to handle your request, then a reasonable period for the record.
Your rights
Law 25 and the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector give you the right to:
- know what information we hold about you and obtain a copy;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent and ask that your information be deleted;
- ask that information stop being disseminated, or be de-indexed, where dissemination causes you serious injury;
- receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Write to us at info@h1site.com and we will answer within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted (HTTPS). Uploaded documents that are not meant for publication — a press release awaiting approval, for instance — are kept in private storage, reachable only through a time-limited signed link.
No measure is perfect. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we will notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.
Minors
This site is for businesses and the people who run them. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 14. If you believe that has happened, write to us at info@h1site.com and we will delete it.
Changes
We may change this policy. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page. A significant change will be flagged on the site.
